Categories
Within a WordPress blog there are two kinds of categories you’ll be working with – content categories and link categories. For this lesson we’ll focus on content categories.
All of your blog’s content will likely be unified by a few overall themes or topics. To help your readers find your various posts you’ll want to assign each post a category or even two … or how ’bout three? Click “Comments” on the menu.

Let’s take a moment to think of a few categories. For example, categories we’ve used in creating this blog were: posts, pages, links, categories, content, design, etc.
Now that you have a few in mind, let’s add them.

Click “Add New” and type in a category in the first field. Categories can also be sub-categories. For example, meat might be a sub-category to food or groceries.
You don’t have to think of all of your categories now; you can always add … and even delete them … later.
Some themes utilize the description field by displaying your category description beneath the category name. You have the option of filling out a description if you wish.
Let’s create our first post!
