Writing and Managing (Editing) Posts
The whole purpose of having a blog on or as your website is so that you not only have access to managing the way your site looks and functions, but most importantly to add new content to your site on a consistent basis. As you know, new content is what brings visitor back to your website. And the more consistently you add content the more visitors will return and the more frequently you can drive home your marketing message.
Select the menu item “Write.” You’ll now see a sub-menu with two items “Write Post” and “Write Page.”

We’re interested in the “Write Post” function, so be certain it is highlight as in the example above.
The first item you see is “Title” – this will be the title of your post.

Your title should be clear, specific and include some words from the post itself that visitors may search for to find your article. “My Blog for the Day” is NOT a good title; however, “10 Steps Toward Business Success” is much better.
The next item is “Post” … this is the “meat” of the matter and where you will type your post’s content. If you are familiar with any of the major word processing programs the buttons will be familiar to you (See the animated image below.). There are two tabs: “Visual” and “Code.” For our purposes, we will concern ourselves only with the “Visual” tab. “Code” will display the programming language called HTML.

Simply begin typing your text in the box. That’s all there is to it!
One final step involves “tagging” your post. A tag is a word that identifies some element of your post and should be a word used in the post’s title and or content. This tag helps visitors find posts relevant to what they seek. You may use more than one tag. Just separate each tag with a comma. These tags are also used in various tag cloud widgets.
When you are done, you have the choice of clicking “Save and Continue Editing” “Save” and “Publish.”
Save and Continue Editing saves the current post and keeps the editor open, but does NOT put the post on the site. This is good to use if you are writing a longer post.
Save simply saves the current post and closes the editing panel without publishing the post on the site.
Publish saves the page AND publishes it to the website for all the world to see.
