How to Add Pages to Your Blog!

Adding a page to your blog is very similar, and just as easy, as adding a post.

Select the menu item “Write.”  You’ll now see a sub-menu with two items “Write Post” and “Write Page.”

Write page.

We’re interested in the “Write Page” function, so be certain it is highlight as in the example above.

The first item you see is “Page Title” – this will be the title of your page.

Page title.

Your title shows up on your blog’s main menu so choose word(s) to be clear and concise. For example: “About Us” “Our Mission” “Contact Us”

The next item is “Past Content” … this is the “meat” of the matter and where you will type your page’s content. If you are familiar with any of the major word processing programs the buttons will be familiar to you (See the animated image below.). There are two tabs: “Visual” and “Code.” For our purposes, we will concern ourselves only with the “Visual” tab. “Code” will display the programming language called HTML.

Editor Icons

Simply begin typing your text in the box. That’s all there is to it!

Adding an image or images to your new page is just like adding images to a post. Visit our Images Tutorial for more information.

Page Order

One important element you should remember to utilize is “page order.” On your right, sidebar menu near the bottom, you will see an item labeled “Page Order.” In the field enter a number indicating the page’s placement on the menu. For example, enter “1″ and this page will become the first page on the menu; enter “3″ and the page will be the third item in the menu.

When you are done, you have the choice of clicking “Save and Continue Editing” “Save” and “Publish.”

Save and Continue Editing saves the current post and keeps the editor open, but does NOT put the post on the site. This is good to use if you are writing a longer post.

Save simply saves the current post and closes the editing panel without publishing the post on the site.

Publish saves the page AND publishes it to the website for all the world to see.
