Ewwwww. What is a slug and why should I care?

A “slug” is a simplified version of your post or page title and is used primarily for permalinks. WordPress manages this automatically, however, you may choose to use your own version of a slug. Slugs should contain NO punctuation other than a hyphen between each word and words selected should be in your title.
